Tom Sawyer’s Christmas Tree Farm is a Holiday Fest
A visit to Tom Sawyer’s Christmas Tree Farm at the peak of the holiday season from November 20th to December 22nd is like attending a HOLIDAY FESTIVAL!
Tom Sawyer grows fields and fields of Fraser Fir Trees on a family-owned farm he has owned for 30 years. The Farm is located in Glenville, North Carolina, in the mountains of Western North Carolina, where the elevation is perfect for growing Beautiful Trees with excellent color and dense foliage.
But the fields of firs are only a backdrop for the multitude of activities to be found at the Farm from the weekend before Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve. This HOLIDAY FEST is a celebration of all senses. Visitors see, hear, smell and touch Christmas traditions.
Families, clubs, couples, groups of friends and parties, who hail from throughout the southeast, will on arrival, on weekends, first take a lively jaunt for a TOUR OF TREES in the farm wagon to Choose and Cut their Perfect Tree! (Walking Tours are available any day.) Tree buyers can take-with or have trees and any other evergreen purchases shipped home or to relatives and friends. The selected and cut tree is delivered to the packing and/or shipping station while visitors continue on to the delights of the Farm.
The selection of a tree is only the beginning of hours of fun and frolic. Uppermost on everyone’s to-do list is the visit to The Elf Village, a cluster of tree houses in a little woodsy hollow by a stream. Here Elf Greeters lead kids and adults alike to their first stop, The “Make a Wish” Elfin Bridge where children also don an elf smock and hat as they enter the village of tree houses . Next, it is on to The Craft House, a hands-on crafts project area where kids can put together a quick and simple Christmas craft to take home; Santa’s Post Office for writing and mailing a wish list to Santa who is usually in residence on weekends; or, to the Holiday Storytelling Cabin that is appealing to little and big kids!
The Big Red Barn houses The Christmas Shop that sells not only wreaths and garland but other Christmas décor items. While adults are shopping, kids shop too for Mom Dad and siblings in Santa’s Secret Shop. For Holiday Memories there are photo opportunities on antique sleighs and carriages and more amusement for all in The Christmas Tree Maze that tests finding-your-way skills.
Tom Sawyer’s Christmas Tree Farm partners with local accommodations, attractions and eateries to help visitors plan their visit. A part of the Farm’s business is wholesale and Christmas tree lot partners always receive trees on short notice, if necessary, and often….the trees are always fresh and fragrant. Tom Sawyer also offers fund-raising opportunities to schools and churches.
All details are available by contacting Tom Sawyer’s Christmas Tree Farm at
